After losing power for almost several hours and having a few things on the back porch get blown over, I'm relieved to say that Hurricane Irene left no serious damage in her wake as she passed over us yesterday. I know a lot of people got slammed way worse with debris, flooding, etc. so I'm beyond grateful that the day went by without incident.
I passed the time catching up on some reading and enjoying some general laziness until my electricity came back on- and then it was time to get back to preparing for the coming week.
The pictures above are from Saturday night's "Pre-Hurricane Fondue Party", which despite my never making fondue before- turned out surprisingly easy and delicious. I learned one culinary trick that I will take with me forever: when you're not sure about the taste, just add a ton of grated cheddar cheese. Always works. So much fun.
I head out to California & Las Vegas soon. I'm going to attempt to update from the road if and when I have some down time, but if I don't- I'll see you all when I get back!
Lots of love,
xo
